The benchmarks speak for themselves. The only test where the mighty Intel P4 Northwood 2.8GHz was outrun was Business Winstone 2001 and it was not by much. I would expect to see some nice deals on processors with in the upcoming months (especially October and November as they are hot months for good deals). Everyone definitely does not require the power of this processor; there are processors at lower clock speeds which will be available at much lower costs and will run nicely for most tasks. For now this is the bad boy on the block. At first when I was testing it out it did not feel much different than the P4 2.4GHz I was using before, but once I started playing around in CPU intensive programs it paid off.
