Intel's Pentium 4 Northwood

Intel's next generation processor is surely their best work yet.  I am looking forward to what they do in the upcoming months and testing out their new processors which will have a 533MHz bus, compared to the 400MHz bus currently in place.

You have seen the changes and benchmarks that prove Intel is staying at the top.  I will definitely be recommending the Northwood 2.0GHz (2.2 is still a little pricey) to my family members, friends and visitors to this site.

We would like to thank Intel for providing us with this Northwood to test and look forward to reviewing future products.

 PROS:
-Compatible across RDRAM, SDRAM and DDR platforms.
-.13u micron & S478 (allowing ~55 million transisitors, and lower thermal power (~50W)).
-512KB L2 cache opposed to 256KB.
-Affordable pricing for their 2.0A Northwood.
-Designed for use with future technologies (AGP 8X, Serial ATA, USB 2.0).
-Northwood 2.2 outperforms the AthlonXP 2000+ (based on tests from other sites).

CONS:
-The 2.2 is a bit pricey at the moment.
-The AthlonXP 2000+ overall is faster than the Northwood 2.0A.
