Linksys Etherfast Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router

A new innovation in wireless networking has "happened". I was just surfing the net and I stumbled upon this Wireless Access Point AND 4-Port Router all in one. This was somewhat of a shock to me, of course, so I had to get it to try it out. Luckily, my skepticism helped me alot. I just got it today and I'm totally happy with it. Especially with an 11Mb/s wireless connection, it just takes the cheese this time. As with most Wireless Access Points, there is a range of 30 meters indoors, that's a whopping 100 feet, at 11Mb/s!

One of the reasons that I got so interested in this is because it automatically configures networks, and it also connects normal CAT5 cables to it. Before this item, you would have to buy 2 different parts if you would like to use Wireless Access and Cable CAT5 cable Routing. You would have to buy the Router, which I had before, and you would have to buy the Wireless Access point also. The LinkSys 4-port Router goes around the price of about $99.99 at Staples.com, and $79.99 at CompUSA.com after the $20 Instant Savings. The Wireless Access Point goes at about $179.99 at Staples.com and the same price at CompUSA.com. So, now let's do some simple math, assuming that I got the better price from both websites, $179.99 + $79.99 = $259.98. Yes, and let's suppose that you DO order both seperate and they get to your house, you'd still have the hassle of connecting both of the boxes in the correct places, and you would have to sacrifice a port on the 4-port router with using the "Uplink" port, which renders one of your other useable ports useless. The price for the BEFW11S4 is $199.98 at Staples.com, $229.99 at CompUSA.com and the best price that I located was on Amazon.com, the total price there was $169.99 or you could buy is used for $149.99. Yet once more, do the math, $259.98 - 169.98 = $90 dollars saved from buying the combo.

Conclusion: It's a no-brainer, the BEFW11S4 is the best out there. And since in includes the 2.4GHz Frequency so it won't interfere with your wireless phone calls, or even vice versa. If you get this item, you will get 4 ports of material connection and up to 36 on wireless. You will get the better end of the deal, because you will save $90 in the end. It will also give you all of the range that you really need, I mean, 30 meters indoors is enough for me at least, and especially since the max that it can do indoors is  91 meters (300 ft.) at Mb/s. This is because, even if you have an exaggeratedly sized house, you'd still have enough range to connect to the internet. Another Pro for this product is that it sets up a home network by just plugging it in. Well, maybe it requires some configuring, but since any version after Windows 2000 auto-detects and LANs, it'll help. You just need a common workgroup and you can now share files. IT IS A VERY GOOD BUY. I cannot stress it enough, it has a trusted brand name and it is a 2 in 1 deal. For more information on this product you can visit http://linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=23&prid=173. They include a detailed description of the product there also. If you'd like to buy this product, I would recommend Staples.com, or maybe Amazon.com (This is actually the better deal) . You better hurry, or the used ones at Amazon.com won't be there. You will be happy. This is, if you need it.
