Optical mice are becoming more and more common. They mostly come standard with computer purchases. They avoid problems such as having to clean the mouse frequently, having to use a mouse pad, and they have a very good refresh rate. Wireless technology is also becoming more prevalent. People enjoy freedom from wires, which often get tangled and are too short. However, wireless technology has its own problems, including slow response time, battery life, and occasional interference with other wireless devices.
