HyTek Computer: Behind the scenes...

HyTek Computer was founded (legally registered and licensed) in August of 2000.  In May 2001, we decided to in addition of providing networking services, computer repair, and reselling computer hardware / software, that we would also design a tech site.  To date we have had around 50,000 hits in the past three months, and that is pretty good for a site that has just popped up on the web!  We have worked hard on designing our site, and forums, and getting visitors, and traffic to our site, in addition to providing you with the latest tech news, articles, and reviews.  We experimented in the beginning with different servers, dealt with network outages and problems (thanks to our great ISP) and have designed this site to best suit our visitors.  You should see a lot more coming your way in the next few months, as we are working hard to bring you some new stuff.

All I can say is you wouldn’t be reading this article let alone looking at our site if it weren’t for my buddies at The Tech Zone, Sound Card Central, AnandTech, and HardOCP for helping me out and inspiring me.  We have grown from being a small local company offering just a few services, and reselling some things over the web, to a large front online.  At this point we are even thinking about starting our own network, to bring tech sites together on the web to attract more visitors, etc.  Our Goal is to eventually attract millions of visitors to our site, and thousands of forum members.  In my opinion I think we are well on our way to success.

I have written this article to let you take a sneak peak behind the scenes at our network, to let you see our site from a different perspective.  I enjoy seeing how people have the networks setup, and I am sure most of you will enjoy this article.  I will include network specs, server specs, and my personal desktop (which I might be upgrading soon), and my brand new laptop specs.  I have a bunch of pictures for you to take a peak at…
