Overclocking is simply pushing your system past the manufacturers specifications.  It's fun to do if you succeed doing it.  When companies say that overclocking is very dangerous and it can fry your system, they are only telling you that because they want you to buy another processor.  Overclocking your processor can shorten your processors life by a few years.  Overclocking can damage your processor if you are not careful and don't follow all of the necessary steps.  I think overclocking is fairly easy if you do it right.  So this is like a beginners guide to overclocking.
